SS2019
SPRING / SUMMER 2019 THE COLOR OF LOVE
The collection draws inspiration from the culture of Southeast Asia, particularly the traditional flower offerings denoting welcome, love, warmth and happiness.
Vibrant blues, greens, yellows and reds as well as fluorescent pinks and chartreuse imbue the collection with energy as do the neon trims and multicolored smocking.
The fabrics are acid dyed denim reimagined, colored denims, crinkled chiffon, sheer organza, fine mesh and multi-colored lace.
Shapes are sometimes loose and flowing, with ruffled and tiered skirts and dresses, and easy jackets and pants. Neon sequined bralets and tees are easy accents stand-alone or layered under unconstructed blazers and jackets paired with cropped pants or denim. Lace or sheer organza plaid pajama tops and pants with contrasting plaid trims are a highlight as are the tuxedo blouses rendered in fine mesh or lace.
Mandalas feature prominently in the prints and patterns as do flowers and wreaths with an occasional appearance of colorful peacocks and butterflies rendered in embroideries or lace. Ruffles are prevalent, appearing on hems, the midriff and around the shoulders and sleeves, sometimes contrasted with casual athletic trims. Gradiated pleating and iridescence lends a 70’s feel to the collection but with a contemporary silhouette.
Complementary macramé accessories such as sandals, belts and bags, in brightcolors underscore the feeling of lightness, rejuvenation and summer holiday spirit that make for a fresh collection.
